We currently have an exciting opportunity for an R&D Laboratory Coordinator to join our Research and Development team, providing pivotal leadership to support the Company's future growth.
The R&D Laboratory Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the daily activities of the R&D Sensor Test Laboratories and leading the Laboratory Team, ensuring that the equipment, materials, and personnel required to deliver business-critical product testing and support new project introductions are available and effectively managed.
Due to the evolving product pipeline and the introduction of new sensor technologies, this role requires a high degree of adaptability and the ability to quickly develop expertise in new and complex testing techniques and instrumentation. The R&D Laboratory Coordinator will actively manage sensor testing activities and collaborate with R&D Scientists and Engineers on product development projects.
As a subject matter expert across multiple laboratory processes, including quality, compliance, equipment maintenance, and calibration, the role will ensure that laboratory operations are conducted efficiently and in accordance with established standards. The R&D Laboratory Coordinator will maintain the laboratories in a compliant and audit-ready state, ensuring that equipment, facilities, and processes remain operational, fit for purpose, and capable of meeting the evolving needs of the business.
The role will provide leadership for R&D sensor-based studies, supporting study design, test execution, and procedure development, while working closely with cross-functional teams involved in product development activities.
In addition, the R&D Laboratory Coordinator will provide day-to-day leadership for the Sensor Laboratory team, driving performance, developing capability, and fostering a safe, collaborative, and compliant environment that supports the successful delivery of R&D objectives.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the R&D Sensor Test Laboratory Team, providing day-to-day direction and support.
- Coordinate the daily operation of the R&D Test Laboratories, ensuring appropriate resource allocation and oversight of laboratory scheduling activities.
- Take a lead role in laboratory quality, compliance, and EHS initiatives.
- Ensure all laboratory work is conducted in accordance with approved operating procedures and test protocols.
- Liaise with other functional groups across the site to achieve objectives and resolve investigations in a timely manner.
- Work closely with R&D project teams during the execution of business-critical studies within the R&D test laboratories.
- Provide complex and detailed project information and feedback to the R&D Laboratory Lead and other technical functions within the department.
- Review laboratory test methods and processes, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement while maintaining compliance and quality standards.
- Act as the subject matter expert for R&D Sensor Laboratory equipment, procedures, and processes.
