About the Team
Anduril’s Quality organization is seeking a Quality Systems Engineer to join our London team and help develop future opportunities for our internal quality management system and digitization efforts. The Quality team works with our customers, internal teams, and suppliers to ensure the deployment of reliable products that meet all mission requirements. We develop cutting-edge Quality processes and methods to secure scalable, long-term business success. We are growing and this role will focus on internal site growth and implementing a world-class quality management system, supporting our internal manufacturing sites, supplier sites, and allied facilities. This role carries responsibility for ensuring compliance with UK and European regulatory frameworks, NATO Standardization Agreements (STANAGs) for aerospace, and UK Ministry of Defense (MOD) requirements as part of our London operations. The right person for this role has extensive knowledge in Quality Management System (QMS) systems, data analysis, and continuous improvement to help shape our internal systems, tools, procedures and the culture of quality at Anduril. What You’ll Do
- Develop, lead, and manage the execution of the QMS and its top-level processes. Coordinate resources and prioritization of tasks to complete internal and external audits of the QMS.
- Develop, lead, and manage the execution of the QMS software implementation and adoption across Anduril sites, including the London facility. Coordinate resources and prioritization of tasks to complete implementation, internal and external audits of the QMS.
- Ensure full compliance with UK regulatory requirements, including UK MOD Defense Standards (DEF STANs), UKCA marking where applicable, and relevant UK Health & Safety Executive (HSE) regulations for defense manufacturing environments.
- Drive compliance with NATO Standardization Agreements (STANAGs) for aerospace quality, including STANAG 4107 (Mutual Acceptance of Government Quality Assurance and Usage of the Allied Quality Assurance Publications), STANAG 4159 (NATO Quality Assurance Requirements for Design, Development and Production — AQAP-2110), and STANAG 4161 (NATO Quality Management System Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defense — AQAP-2310).
- Ensure conformance to STANAG 4404 and associated AQAPs for software-intensive aerospace systems, including AQAP-2210 (NATO Supplementary Software Quality Assurance Requirements) as applicable to Lattice OS and embedded mission systems.
- Support implementation of STANAG 4685 (Airworthiness) requirements as they relate to quality assurance processes for unmanned aerial systems and aerospace components.
- Liaise with the UK MOD Quality Assurance representatives, the Defence Quality Assurance (DQA) organisation, and NATO Quality Assurance authorities to support Government Quality Assurance (GQA) activities and audits.
- Partner with business systems team, product quality engineers and manufacturing engineers to help prepare new processes, digital tools, and sites to meet QMS requirements, develop new capabilities to meet existing QMS requirements and conduct internal audits before manufacturing readiness review and production readiness review.
- Develop our internal QMS road map for tools and capabilities to match the scaling of the company: to meet customer needs, to enable quality capabilities for new products, and scale quality processes as we grow — with particular attention to UK Export Control and ITAR/EAR interface requirements.
- Ensure compliance with UK data protection requirements (UK GDPR / Data Protection Act 2018) as they relate to quality records, supplier data, and audit documentation.
- Become a systems expert for Anduril’s quality tools, processes, and data sets to enable effective QMS execution across both US and UK operations.
- Communicate with external audit agencies, including UKAS-accredited certification bodies and NATO quality assurance authorities. Support customer audits as necessary.
- Manage the QMS internal audit program and lead internal audits.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities that benefit the QMS and product quality, aligned with AS9100, NATO AQAP, and STANAG frameworks.
- Support investigations, initiatives, and projects as needed, at the team or organisation level.
- Support developing QMS training modules and packages, including UK/NATO-specific regulatory and STANAG training. Facilitate training records and retention with manager of affected trainees.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective action with internal findings from audits and customer visits, including UK MOD and NATO audit findings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of experience in aerospace and/or defence manufacturing.
- Expert knowledge of QMS requirements and auditing in a complex product environment, in one or more of the following QMS standards: ISO 9001:2015, AS9100D, AS9110C, AS9120B, AS6500, IATF 16949:2016, ISO 13485:2016, TL 9000 R6.3.
- Demonstrable knowledge of NATO Standardization Agreements (STANAGs) for aerospace quality, including STANAG 4107, STANAG 4159, STANAG 4161, and their associated Allied Quality Assurance Publications (AQAPs): AQAP-2110, AQAP-2210, and AQAP-2310.
- Familiarity with UK MOD Defence Standards (DEF STANs) and Government Quality Assurance (GQA) processes.
- Understanding of UK regulatory frameworks relevant to defence manufacturing, including UK Export Control Act 2002, HSE regulations, and UKCA/CE marking requirements.
- Working knowledge with QMS software solutions which might include Net Inspect, Siemens, SAP, ETQ, One Factory, MasterControl, Compliance Quest, Hexagon, PTC, QT9.
- Hands-on experience with data analytics platforms, reporting tools, and basic data visualisation.
- Demonstrated project management for software system implementation and onboarding suppliers (external users) and internal users.
- Working knowledge of design, development, manufacturing, supply chain, deployment, contracts, and other organisations that are part of a company-wide audit.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and Business Intelligence (BI) systems.
- A strong ownership mindset with demonstrated capability to drive projects from start to completion.
- Proven track record of implementation and success with QMS.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Expected travel up to 20% of the time, including travel to US facilities and NATO partner sites.
