Mō te tūranga | About the opportunity

We're looking for a friendly and flexible assistant to join our fantastic Kitchen team.

The Kitchen Assistant is responsible for delivering efficient food service to our residents and providing a high level of customer service.

You will support the Head Chef / Kitchen Manager through kitchen and meal preparation including assembling and preparing ingredients, baking, cooking, toasting, and heating food items as well as dishwashing. You will also be responsible for keeping the kitchen and scullery areas clean, tidy, and safe.

Qualifications

• Experience working within a commercial kitchen or similar environment
• Hours are 1.30pm - 6.30pm
• Days will range across the week and include weekends
• Must be flexible to pick up extra shifts
• Must have experience in food preparation and food plating for service
• Highly motivated, able to take initiative, and flexible.
• Great hygiene standards and commitment to health and safety
• Ability to work closely with, and support, your colleagues
