As a Senior Product Designer, you will lead the design strategy for critical Jira surfaces. You aren’t just moving pixels; you are solving deep architectural and human problems for a product that defines the "work management" category. You will partner closely with Engineering and Product Management (the "Triad") to turn high-level roadmaps into intuitive, accessible, and high-performing features.

What You’ll Do

• Drive Vision: Lead the end-to-end design process for the next generation of Jira’s core surfaces (e.g., Issue View, Create Experience, and Global Navigation).
• Solve for Complexity: Take complex technical requirements—like Forge extensibility and platform-scale APIs—and translate them into simple, elegant user journeys.
• Collaborate Across Boundaries: Work with teams across the Ecosystem and Platform orgs to ensure a cohesive experience for both internal users and third-party developers.
• Champion Craft: Elevate the quality of Jira's design by participating in "sparring" sessions, contributing to our design system, and mentoring other designers.
• Validate with Data: Partner with research and analytics to audit existing flows, identify friction points, and iterate based on customer feedback and performance metrics.

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in product design, ideally within complex B2B SaaS environments or developer platforms.
• Systems Thinking: You think in systems, not just screens. You understand how a change in one core surface ripples across the entire Jira ecosystem.
• Strategic Partner: You have a track record of partnering with PMs and EMs to influence product strategy and technical feasibility.
• Technical Fluency: You’re comfortable discussing APIs, extensibility, and performance constraints with engineers.
• Portfolio: A portfolio that showcases your ability to untangle complex user problems and deliver polished, accessible, and high-impact design solutions.
