Job Description:
This job is responsible for working on the least complex technical designs that enable business strategies in accordance with architectural governance, standards and policies. This job facilitates deployment of technical solution by developing templates, playbooks, and automation used during implementation and consistently looking for opportunities to improve the reliability and efficiency of implementing services. Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Windows Systems Engineer to join our infrastructure team. This role is responsible for the administration, support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of a multi-technology infrastructure environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, and enterprise server hardware, along with the ability to support a broad range of infrastructure technologies in a hands-on capacity.
As part of a small infrastructure team, this individual will play a key role in maintaining system stability, security, performance, and availability while supporting day-to-day operations, project initiatives, and technology upgrades.
Responsibilities:
- Provides subject matter expertise and consulting services on a range of technologies, contributing to the technology strategy for end-to-end engineering solutions and providing feedback to the architecture teams
- Follows reference models, blueprints and playbooks to ensure the design is compliant
- Assists in translating business requirements into technical definitions, reference models, blueprints, and playbooks for deployment in compliance with architecture standards and policies
- Assists Technical Analysts by ensuring system design technology solutions comply with enterprise system design and engineering standards
- Develops software solutions to address manual and repeatable work or inefficient processes
- Supports an inclusive and healthy working environment
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience administering Windows Server environments in an enterprise setting
- Strong experience with: Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP, Enterprise server hardware
- Experience supporting VMware virtualization platforms
- Provide on-call rotational support, including off-hours support, during weeknights, Saturdays, and Sundays and on holidays as required
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with enterprise backup technologies, preferably Veritas NetBackup
- Experience supporting SAN or enterprise storage solutions, preferably EMC storage platforms
- Experience supporting Atlassian Jira administration
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation
- Experience with monitoring and infrastructure management tools
- Familiarity with networking concepts including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, and firewalls
- Experience supporting small to mid-sized enterprise infrastructure environments
- Microsoft, VMware, or related infrastructure certifications
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Comfortable supporting a broad range of technologies in a lean team environment
- Strong customer service mindset and commitment to operational excellence
