Associate Vice President, Finance (Paducah, KY)

As a member of the market senior leadership team, the Associate Vice President is responsible for directing financial strategy and operations of assigned Market(s), including supporting market senior with overall financial strategy and performance.

Essential Functions

  • Leads market financial and operational performance management processes, including accountability review meetings with senior operating and finance leadership, Monthly Operating Advance (MOA) meetings, management reporting activities, month-end reviews, variance documentation, and collaboration with the System Performance Advisory Office (PAO) to drive achievement of financial, labor, throughput, service line, and cost reduction targets.
  • Directs market governance and resource optimization initiatives, including discretionary spend, position control, and capital review and approval processes, while leading special projects and ad hoc assignments in support of regional finance and operational objectives.
  • Provides strategic financial leadership for the market by leading the development of rolling forecasts, long-range financial plans, and capital projections; partnering with market leadership to establish key operational and financial assumptions; and collaborating with the System Strategic Financial Planning team to align market priorities, growth initiatives, and investment strategies with overall system objectives.
  • Leads compilation of annual operating and capital budgets, including working with market leadership to develop key volume assumptions, revenue rate assumptions, expense inflation assumptions, labor targets and other budget initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Business or related field
  • 7 years of experience
  • Additional Healthcare experience in public accounting, accounting, budgeting, financial may be substituted in lieu of Bachelors degree

Preferred Requirement

  • CPA preferred, healthcare experience preferred
  • Director level or above experience is preferred
