Director, Diagnostic Imaging

Full-Time, 1st Shift

Radiology Support | Corbin, KY

The Radiology Support Unit provides essential administrative, technical, and patient support services that help ensure the efficient operation of diagnostic imaging departments. Team members serve as a vital link between patients, providers, technologists, and clinical departments, helping coordinate imaging services while delivering exceptional customer service and support throughout the patient's care experience.

The Director of Diagnostic Imaging will be responsible for the development, organization, and ongoing management of diagnostic imaging services. Responsibilities that include planning, implementing, evaluating quality of care and management, development and motivation of personnel. Assists in the development and implementation of imaging standards of practice, policies and procedures, standards of patient care, and metrics to measure, assess, and improve patient care consistent with research, evidence-based practices, and nationally recognized professional standards. Prepares and submits budget and is responsible for maintaining adherence to the budget. Coordinates and/or participate in multidisciplinary teams involving internal and external members. Responsible for appropriate delegation and supervision of the duties of the diagnostic imaging staff. Monitors departmental operations to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and meet standards established by accrediting agencies.

Job Description:

  • Provides leadership and operational oversight of department activities and patient care.
  • Develops and maintains policies, procedures, job descriptions, and departmental programs.
  • Implements strategic initiatives and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to improve workflow and patient care.
  • Manages departmental budgets, capital purchases, service agreements, equipment, and supplies.
  • Oversees quality metrics, regulatory compliance, certifications, accreditations, and customer service.
  • Manages recruitment, orientation, training, retention, supervision, performance, and disciplinary actions.
  • Monitors staffing and productivity levels to ensure appropriate departmental coverage.
  • Supports employee education, competency, and professional development.
  • Maintains knowledge of clinical/technical practices, technology, management, and safety requirements.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Radiology/Imaging Program
  • Minimum 5 years job-related experience
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in at least one field of Radiology
  • Active ARRT and KBMIRT license
  • BLS – American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • AHRA certification may substitute for minimum degree requirement

Preferred Experience:

  • Masters degree – Healthcare Admin/Leadership
