The Principal Solutions Architect is a Senior, Global, customer-facing technology role responsible for helping Bloomreach win and grow strategic enterprise customers by connecting their business objectives with modern data, AI, MarTech and commerce architectures.
You will act as a trusted technical advisor to senior technology and digital leaders, helping customers understand how Bloomreach can fit into - and enhance - their existing technology ecosystem.
Working closely with our Global Account Executives, Solution Consultants, Product, Engineering and Customer Success Teams, you will shape technical strategy throughout complex enterprise sales cycles, lead executive and technical conversations, and help potential customers translate architectural decisions into measurable business outcomes.
This role sits between deep technical architecture and commercial strategy. You do not need to have been a CTO, but you should be comfortable engaging with CIOs, CTOs, Enterprise Architects and other senior technology stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Technology & Architecture
- Act as a senior technical advisor for global strategic enterprise opportunities and customer engagements.
- Build trusted relationships with CIOs, CTOs, Enterprise Architects, Chief Digital Officers and senior technology teams.
- Understand and map complex customer technology environments, identifying where Bloomreach can create value.
- Whiteboard and communicate complex architectures, data flows and integration strategies with technical and executive audiences.
- Advise customers on how data moves from systems of record through to real-time decisioning, personalization and activation.
- Help customers evaluate architectural trade-offs across data platforms, APIs, cloud infrastructure, identity, governance, latency and scalability.
- Explain where traditional warehouse-centric approaches may not fully support real-time customer decisioning and activation.
Data, AI & MarTech
- Bring strong expertise across modern data architectures, including Databricks, Snowflake, lakehouses, CDPs, APIs and cloud platforms.
- Understand identity resolution, event streams, customer profiles, data governance and real-time data requirements.
- Understand enterprise MarTech ecosystems including ESPs, personalization, CRM, commerce and marketing automation.
- Help customers understand how Bloomreach fits within their broader data, AI, commerce and MarTech ecosystem.
- Stay current on emerging technologies and architectural patterns across AI, data, commerce and digital experience.
Enterprise Sales & Commercial Strategy
- Partner with our Global Account Executives and Solution Consultants throughout complex enterprise sales cycles to shape technical strategy and increase deal confidence.
- Support RFPs, technical validation, executive presentations, architecture reviews and customer workshops.
- Connect technical and architectural decisions to business outcomes, including revenue, cost, risk and time-to-value.
- Help identify and remove technical barriers that could prevent enterprise opportunities from progressing.
- Bring strong commercial instincts and an understanding of how technology decisions influence enterprise buying processes.
- Challenge customer assumptions where appropriate while maintaining a consultative, outcome-focused approach.
Internal & Market Influence
- Partner with our Global Product and Engineering teams to bring customer insights, market trends and architectural requirements back into Bloomreach.
- Constructively challenge internal teams when customer needs or market opportunities require a different approach.
- Mentor Solution Consultants and other customer-facing teams on modern data architecture, AI, enterprise technology and industry trends.
- Develop relationships with strategic technology partners including hyperscalers, commerce platforms, CDPs and systems integrators.
- Contribute to customer technology briefings, industry events and thought leadership where relevant.
Experience
- Significant experience in a senior customer-facing technical role within enterprise software, SaaS, commerce, MarTech, data or digital experience.
- Strong understanding of modern data architecture and cloud platforms, including technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, lakehouses and CDPs.
- Strong understanding of APIs, event-driven architectures, data flows, identity resolution, customer profiles and real-time activation.
- Understanding of enterprise MarTech and commerce ecosystems, including CRM, ESPs, personalization, marketing automation and commerce platforms.
- Experience with enterprise cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure.
- Understanding of modern commerce architectures, APIs, microservices, composable commerce and cloud-native technologies.
- Experience supporting complex enterprise sales cycles, RFPs, technical evaluations and multi-stakeholder buying processes.
- Experience working with senior technical stakeholders including CIOs, CTOs, Enterprise Architects and technology leadership teams.
- Strong ability to simplify complex technical concepts and connect them to business outcomes.
- Strong executive communication, presentation and workshop facilitation skills.
- Commercially minded, with the ability to understand the relationship between architecture, investment, risk and business value.
- Comfortable challenging customers and internal Product/Engineering teams constructively.
- Strong curiosity and ability to learn and communicate emerging technologies, particularly across AI, data and customer experience.
- Executive presence and credibility without needing to have previously held a CTO or equivalent executive technology position.
Success in the Role
First 30 Days
- Build relationships with our Global Sales, Channel, Solution Engineering, Product, Engineering and Customer Success teams.
- Develop a strong understanding of Bloomreach's platform, AI capabilities, architecture, competitive positioning and strategic enterprise accounts.
- Build familiarity with the broader data, MarTech and commerce ecosystem in which Bloomreach operates.
First 60 Days
- Begin actively supporting strategic enterprise opportunities, participating in customer meetings, architecture discussions, technical workshops and solution reviews.
- Establish credibility with Sales and technical stakeholders as a trusted technology partner.
- Start identifying common customer architecture challenges and opportunities where Bloomreach can differentiate.
First 90 Days
- Lead technical strategy and architecture discussions across multiple strategic enterprise opportunities.
- Establish trusted relationships with senior customer technology stakeholders.
- Demonstrate the ability to connect customer architecture and technology strategy to Bloomreach's commercial value proposition.
- Become a recognised internal technology advisor for strategic enterprise sales, bringing customer insight and market knowledge into Sales, Product and Engineering.
- Contribute to accelerating complex opportunities, improving technical confidence and strengthening Bloomreach's position within enterprise technology ecosystems.
