WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Lead Renewals Manager, you will own the end-to-end renewal process for a portfolio of customers within your assigned territory, with a particular focus on complex and strategic renewals. As a senior individual contributor within the Renewals team, you will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, serve as a trusted advisor to cross-functional stakeholders, and help elevate renewal strategy and execution across the broader team.

In addition to managing your own portfolio, you will act as a subject matter expert and escalation point for the Renewals team, providing guidance and mentorship to Renewal Managers and contributing to the continued development of our processes, tools, and best practices.

  • Strategic Renewal Management: Lead the end-to-end renewal process for a portfolio of customers, including complex and strategic accounts. Develop renewal strategies, manage key timelines and stakeholders, and prepare commercial proposals to drive successful contract execution and revenue retention.
  • Complex Deal Leadership: Provide guidance on complex renewal structures, pricing considerations, negotiations, and non-standard scenarios, partnering with Sales, Customer Success, Deal Desk, Finance, Legal, and other stakeholders to navigate issues and drive appropriate outcomes.
  • Operational Excellence: Own the internal quoting and Order Form process for your portfolio, ensuring agreements are structured correctly, executed on time, and accurately reflected across internal systems. Act as a subject matter expert on renewal processes and operational best practices.
  • Cross-functional Partnership: Build strong relationships with Sales, Customer Success, and regional leadership, acting as a trusted advisor on renewal strategy, commercial considerations, customer risk, and opportunities for growth.
  • Forecasting & Insights: Lead regular regional forecast discussions, providing clear visibility into upcoming renewals, risks, contraction, and growth opportunities. Drive forecasting discipline and help stakeholders improve the quality and accuracy of renewal forecasts.
  • Churn & Retention Analysis: Own and contribute to regional churn and retention reporting, identifying trends across renewals, contractions, and growth within the customer base. Translate data into actionable insights and effectively communicate findings to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Serve as a senior resource within the Renewals team, providing day-to-day guidance, mentorship, and support to Renewal Managers. Share knowledge and best practices, help colleagues navigate complex situations, and contribute to the continued development of the team without direct people-management responsibility.
  • Escalation & Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a point of escalation for complex renewal scenarios and operational questions, applying strong commercial judgment and a deep understanding of internal policies and processes to recommend solutions.
  • Process & CRM Improvements: Identify opportunities to improve renewal workflows, systems, reporting, and CRM data quality. Partner with relevant teams to develop scalable solutions and drive adoption of best practices across the Renewals organization.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to improve how we manage renewals and retention, taking ownership of projects and initiatives that increase efficiency, consistency, and visibility across the business.

WHO YOU ARE

  • An experienced professional with a background in Renewals, Sales, Revenue Operations, Customer Success, or a related commercial function.
  • You have demonstrated experience owning complex commercial processes and are comfortable independently managing strategic or high-value customer renewals.

  • You are highly organized and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of accountability and the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.

We're committed to offering all candidates a fair, accessible, and inclusive experience – regardless of age, color, disability, gender identity, marital status, maternity, national origin, pregnancy, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or status as a protected veteran. When applying and interviewing with Braze, we want you to feel comfortable showcasing what makes you you.

We know that sometimes different circumstances can lead talented people to hesitate to apply for a role unless they meet 100% of the criteria. If this sounds familiar, we encourage you to apply, as we’d love to meet you.

OUR AI-POWERED BRAZE RECRUITMENT PROCESS

At Braze, we’re committed to a fair and transparent candidate experience. To help our recruitment teams focus on what matters most — the person behind each application — we use AI-assisted tools at certain stages of our recruitment process.

This includes using AI to analyze the experience, skills and qualifications in your application materials to help with screening and prioritizing candidates. Such screening may amount to a form of solely automated decision-making. We also use AI for administrative support, like scheduling and recording interviews and summarizing interview notes. Our recruiting teams remain responsible for all hiring decisions and are involved throughout the process.

Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to request further information about how AI is used in our recruitment process, to opt out of AI-assisted review, to request a manual review of any decision made or to contest a decision.

Please contact us at [email protected] for any requests or questions. To find out more about our hiring process, check out this page.

Notice Regarding Automated Employment Decision Tool (NYC Local Law 144)

Our use of AI during the application review process may include the use of automated employment decision tools. Pursuant to New York City Local Law 144, for roles based in New York City, or if you reside in New York City, you have the right to request an alternative selection process or a reasonable accommodation instead of AI-assisted review. Please submit any such request to our Talent Acquisition team at [email protected] promptly after applying. A summary of the most recent bias audit results for such tool is available here.

Please see our Candidate Privacy Policy for more information on how Braze processes your personal information during the recruitment process and, if applicable based on your location, how you can exercise any privacy rights.
