- Assist in the creation of design drawings for projects using assigned 2-D or 3-D computer software.
- Collaborate with mid- and senior engineering staff to understand project specifications and requirements for assigned tasks.
- Assist in the execution of design processes on assigned projects.
- Under the oversight of mid- and senior level engineering staff, determine design criteria, drawing sequence and presentation, and refining rough sketches and notes to include material quantities and equipment specifications obtained from standard calculations and vendor catalogues.
- Assist the project team in the coordination of project designs with other disciplines.
- May be requested to assist mid- and senior engineering staff in performing on-site inspections during construction and learn how to communicate design requirements with contractors and equipment suppliers.
- Perform all tasks in compliance with Burns (and, when applicable, a client’s) standards, policies, procedures, and engineering codes.
- Perform all tasks efficiently, accurately, within the allotted project hours, and complete tasks on or before the due date.
- Observe, understand, apply and retain Burns technical policies, procedures, design analyses, calculations, engineering methodology and codes, and equipment selection criteria.
- Complete special duties as assigned.
