Glimpse of the Job

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will be responsible for the design, synthesis, and evaluation of hydrogen electrocatalysis and magnetic properties. This will involve inorganic/synthesis and characterization.

Opportunities to Contribute:

  • Conduct experimental laboratory research work in the fields of hydrogen electrocatalysis and magnetic properties, inorganic/synthesis, and characterization.
  • Attend scientific meetings and seminars for research enhancement and stays up to date on scientific research via reading of literature, and etc.
  • Make presentations of results at group meetings and other appropriate venues.
  • Mentor collaborator’s graduate and undergraduate student(s) in their related research efforts and aids in the preparation of manuscripts, proposals, and presentations.
  • Participate in analyzing and disseminating data results as part of participation in group meetings.
  • Prepare manuscripts, periodic reports, scientific papers/presentations, and grant proposals.
  • Provide advice and assistance to other laboratory team members.
  • Act as a mentor to students.
  • Maintain laboratory instrumentation and follow applicable safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Chemistry or related field.

A well-qualified candidate may also possess:

  • PhD in Chemistry.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to contribute to team effort by working effectively with individuals from various backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of synthetic chemistry and physical methods for characterization of redox and spin-active molecules

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate’s education and experience.

Special Note: This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding, which is renewed through provisions of the grantor of the contract. Therefore, this position is contingent upon continuation of funding from these grants and/or contracts, as well as satisfactory job performance
