Essential Job Functions
- Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Collaborate with production staff to identify and implement the most effective manufacturing methods and technologies.
- Develop and optimize process parameters, tooling, fixtures, and equipment setups to support stable and repeatable production.
- Lead manufacturing readiness activities for new product launches, including process development, validation, and documentation.
- Benchmark industry best practices and identify opportunities to integrate advanced manufacturing techniques into the organization.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute manufacturing improvement projects from concept through implementation.
- Provide hands‑on technical support for daily production issues, including troubleshooting equipment, tooling, and process deviations.
- Deliver measurable improvements in productivity, scrap reduction, cycle time, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Maintain strong working relationships across departments to ensure alignment on production goals and priorities.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement and cost‑reduction initiatives.
- Support operator training by developing clear work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process control methods.
Required Skills/Qualifications
- Results‑driven engineer with demonstrated success in a high‑performance manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide cross‑functional teams through coaching and technical mentorship.
- Proven experience managing complex engineering projects from planning through execution within budget and schedule.
- Ability to build organizational support for new manufacturing methods, technologies, and process improvements.
- Skilled at developing people and achieving results through collaboration and influence.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Strong technical training and instructional design skills; able to translate complex concepts into effective training materials.
- Quick learner with the ability to master new technologies, processes, and engineering concepts.
- Strong project management and problem‑solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably with experience in plastics, polymers, or related manufacturing processes.
- 5 to 7 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required.
