We are looking for a Project HSE Manager to join our office in Milano
A Project Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager supports the company in ensuring that everyone involved in a project works safely, protects their health, and minimizes environmental impact.
They identify potential risks, implement effective preventive measures, and foster a culture where people take responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others. Their objective is to contribute to the successful delivery of projects while preventing accidents, injuries, and unnecessary impacts on the environment and local communities.
Your key duties and responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, coordinate, and supervise all HSE activities within projects, in accordance with project complexity, scope of work, company procedures, contractual requirements, and applicable laws, regulations, and international standards.
- Support company-wide HSE initiatives, including bid preparation, management system maintenance, training activities, KPI monitoring, performance analysis, and continuous improvement programs.
- Lead and influence project teams, colleagues, suppliers, and subcontractors to work safely and promote a strong safety culture across all project activities.
- Define and implement the project HSE management strategy throughout the entire project lifecycle, from proposal and tender phases through project execution and completion.
- Provide expert support to company functions and project teams when dealing with clients on all Health, Safety, and Environmental matters.
- Ensure that all project HSE activities comply with applicable legislation, client requirements, international standards, and Prysmian's Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures, including those applicable to suppliers and subcontractors.
- Coordinate with manufacturing HSE teams to ensure alignment with company policies and project-specific requirements, while collaborating with operations teams and local offices to effectively implement HSE methodologies and foster a strong safety culture.
- Ensure vessel operations are conducted in compliance with the International Safety Management (ISM) Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, and other relevant maritime regulations.
- Support project teams in the risk management process, including risk assessments, HAZID, HAZOP, and other hazard identification and mitigation activities.
- Lead and facilitate accident and incident investigations, analyze trends and root causes, and develop corrective and preventive actions to improve project and organizational HSE performance.
- Conduct internal and external HSE audits during prequalification, tendering, and project execution phases.
- Develop, deliver, and promote project-specific HSE training programs and behavioral safety initiatives for employees, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Ensure the development, implementation, maintenance, review, and continuous improvement of the Company HSE Management System in line with Corporate guidelines, ensuring its effective application across projects.
- Lead the collection, management, analysis, and reporting of HSE performance indicators, driving data-based improvement initiatives and ensuring accurate performance monitoring.
You are the right fit if you have/are:
- Fluent in English and Italian
- Master Degree in mechanical/ chemical /safety / environment engineering
- Up to 5/7 years of experience as/in HSE Engineer/ HSE advisor with onshore and/or offshore (nice to have) site experience
- ISO 45001 and ISO14001 knowledge and lead auditor certification
- Incident Investigation techniques (TapRoot/ Kelvin Top Set preferred)
- Knowledge of Italian HSE legislation and UK HSE legislation (nice to have)
- Knowledge of HSE Risk Assessment techniques (ISO31000 nice to have)
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills
- Decision making attitude, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong teamwork skills, results oriented and ambitious mindset

- Gross annual salary no less than: 45.000,00
- The position is eligible for an individual or collective variable incentive based on the achievement of predetermined performance objectives.
