Join our security engineering organization at F5. In this role, you will help build and operate scalable cloud infrastructure and services protecting modern applications and APIs worldwide against evolving cyber threats.
As a DevOps & Cloud Infrastructure Intern, you will gain hands-on experience deploying and maintaining cloud services, building automated CI/CD pipelines, and establishing robust monitoring and observability systems. You will collaborate closely with experienced software engineers, SREs, and architects in a supportive, high-growth environment.
Your Typical Day May Involve:
- Deploying and Maintaining Cloud Services: Assist in spinning up, configuring, and maintaining cloud infrastructure and microservices across public and distributed cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Observability and Monitoring: Implement and tune monitoring, telemetry dashboards, logging, and alerting systems to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability.
- CI/CD Automation: Build, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline testing, deployment, and release cycles.
- Internal Tooling and Productivity: Develop automation scripts and tools (Python, Go, Bash) to eliminate operational toil and boost developer efficiency.
- Collaborative Problem-Solving: Partner with development teams to troubleshoot infrastructure issues and validate software workloads in production and staging environments.
Who You Are:
- Student Status: Currently pursuing a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline (3rd or 4th-year student).
- Availability: Able to commit to approximately 20 hours per week (up to 100 hours per month) for a total internship duration of 1,040 hours.
- Communication: Effective communicator in English with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset and strong teamwork skills.
We’d Love to Hear From You If You Have:
- Scripting / Programming: Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Bash/Shell).
- Operating Systems: Solid understanding of Linux environments and command-line utilities.
- Version Control and CI/CD: Familiarity with Git workflows and foundational CI/CD principles (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
- Cloud and Containers: Foundational knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Monitoring and Observability: Exposure to monitoring and telemetry tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK stack).
- Big Data Platforms (Plus): Hands-on experience or familiarity with Databricks, Apache Spark, Snowflake, or similar data analytics/processing platforms.
- Background (Plus): Prior experience as a System Administrator, Support Engineer, or equivalent hands-on lab experience.
