Role Summary

We are looking for a Visual Production Designer to create high-quality digital assets across Topps.com and Fanatics Collect. You will translate brand systems, creative concepts, and product stories into polished work across ecommerce, app, lifecycle, and marketing touchpoints.

This is a hands-on role for a designer who combines strong visual judgment with speed, precision, and thoughtful production craft. You will champion our brand guidelines while finding compelling ways to bring each product to life, highlighting its story, collectibility, key cards, athletes, artists, and cultural context.

You will work across a wide range of formats, maintain consistency at scale, and help every asset feel intentional, distinctly on-brand, and appropriate for the channel where it appears.

What you will do

  • Design and produce digital assets for Topps.com and Fanatics Collect, including site banners, landing page modules, product storytelling, promotional placements, in-app content, email, paid media, and social formats.
  • Bring product releases to life through visual storytelling that highlights their unique themes, subjects, cards, inserts, athletes, and collector appeal.
  • Champion and consistently apply Topps and Fanatics Collect brand guidelines across every touchpoint.
  • Help evolve production standards, templates, and best practices as the brands and digital experiences continue to grow.
  • Extend approved creative direction across multiple sizes, channels, sports, entertainment properties, and product releases without losing the quality or intent of the original concept.
  • Build clear visual hierarchy around trading cards, products, athletes, entertainment properties, offers, and calls to action.
  • Use composition, typography, imagery, pacing, and content hierarchy to make complex product stories easy to understand and exciting to explore.
  • Prepare production-ready files and deliver accurate exports that meet platform, accessibility, localization, and technical requirements.
  • Create reusable templates and modular systems that make recurring asset production faster and more consistent.
  • Retouch, composite, resize, and optimize product and card imagery while maintaining premium image quality and accurate product representation.
  • Partner with brand designers, product designers, copywriters, marketers, merchandisers, producers, and developers from brief through final delivery.
  • Manage several concurrent requests, respond to feedback, and communicate timing, dependencies, and risks clearly.
  • Maintain organized source files, naming conventions, version control, and asset libraries so work can be easily reused and handed off.
  • Contribute ideas that improve the craft, efficiency, storytelling, and consistency of our production process.

What we are looking for

  • Approximately 3–5 years of experience in visual design, digital production design, marketing design, ecommerce, or a related field.
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong typography, layout, image composition, color, hierarchy, and attention to detail across digital formats.
  • Examples of using visual design to communicate a product story, not simply displaying a product or adapting campaign assets.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Experience working within and championing established brand guidelines across a wide range of channels and formats.
  • The ability to maintain brand consistency while making thoughtful creative decisions that respond to the specific product, audience, and placement.
  • Strong image editing, compositing, retouching, and file-preparation skills.
  • An understanding of responsive web design and how creative assets behave across desktop and mobile experiences.
  • Excellent organization and quality-control habits, including careful review of copy, crops, alignment, image resolution, and export specifications.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with overlapping launches, feedback cycles, and deadlines.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative, low-ego approach to the work.

Nice to have

  • Experience designing for ecommerce, marketplaces, consumer apps, sports, entertainment, collectibles, or culture-driven brands.
  • Experience creating editorial or content-led digital experiences that connect products to broader stories, people, and culture.
  • Working knowledge of motion design and tools such as After Effects or Rive.
  • Experience with content management systems and designing modular assets for repeatable publishing workflows.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and performance considerations for web and app imagery.
  • An interest in trading cards, collecting, sports, or fandom.

What success looks like

You consistently deliver polished, accurate work across a high volume of requests. Your files are organized, your assets feel native to each channel, and your attention to detail raises the quality of Topps.com and Fanatics Collect.

You become a trusted champion of the brand, helping ensure that every execution feels cohesive while giving individual products a distinctive and compelling story. Over time, you help the team move faster and create stronger work by improving templates, production standards, storytelling approaches, and reusable visual systems.

How we work

We care about the details collectors notice: the quality of a card image, the clarity of a product story, the consistency of a system, and the polish of every interaction. We work collaboratively, move quickly, and expect designers to balance creative craft with practical execution.
