JOB SUMMARY:
The Salesforce Developer role is responsible for designing, coding, and maintaining Salesforce development that support our business units across the Fisher\SMB organization. Key responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, building and maintaining high-quality code, and leading technology related projects that deliver scalable solutions. This position drives innovation and efficiency in technology, enabling our business units to leverage software solutions for improved operations and user experiences.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Write clean, efficient Apex, Lightning Web Components, and declarative configurations with reusable and adaptable structures for maintainable and scalable Salesforce solutions.
- Troubleshoot and debug existing Salesforce applications (Apex, Flows, LWC, integrations) to resolution.
- Analyze and resolve complex Salesforce technical issues by conducting thorough root cause analysis, identifying underlying problems across org configuration and code, and implementing effective solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Actively participate in and lead regular code and configuration reviews (Apex, LWC, Flows, triggers) to ensure adherence to Salesforce best practices, design patterns, and coding standards, promoting high‑quality, maintainable solutions.
- Create and maintain scalable automated tests (Apex unit tests, integration tests, and UI tests where applicable), adhering to best practices and ensuring continuous improvement through regular maintenance and analysis of test outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Salesforce admins, developers, project managers, business analysts, product owners) to translate business requirements into Salesforce solutions.
- Contribute within project teams autonomously (Scrum or Waterfall), owning end‑to‑end delivery of Salesforce features and enhancements.
- Lead moderate to complex Salesforce projects as lead developer, including new org capabilities, major enhancements, and cross‑system integrations.
- Assist team members with basic to moderate Salesforce design patterns (trigger frameworks, service layers, integration patterns, and declarative vs. programmatic design) for use in solution development.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify and implement optimal Salesforce design patterns and coding practices.
- Identify Salesforce application performance, tuning best practices and socialize with broader team.
- Document code changes, design decisions, and development processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4+ years of experience in a software engineering role, including substantial experience developing on the Salesforce platform, is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in Apex and Salesforce platform development, with experience in Lightning Web Components, SOQL/SOSL, and declarative tools (Flows, Process Builder, validation rules, etc.); experience with additional languages such as JavaScript, C#, Java, or Python is preferred.
- Experience working in project methodologies (Scrum or Waterfall).
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently on complex Salesforce features and integrations.
- Good communication skills to convey technical information and constraints (limits, security, data model) to non‑technical users.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and desire to drive process and system improvements into the business using Salesforce capabilities.
- Familiarity with Salesforce integration patterns and RESTful APIs (callouts, middleware, external services) is preferred.
- Familiarity with general web development concepts (HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks) and how they apply to Salesforce (LWC, Aura, Experience Cloud).
Familiarity with scalable, secure architecture on the Salesforce platform (profiles/permission sets, sharing, field‑level security, and data model design).
