The Opportunity

Join the Financial Reporting team and play a key role in supporting the company's financial close and reporting processes. This position provides exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities, including general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, payroll accounting, intercompany transactions, cash management, and audit support. The successful candidate will act as trusted finance partner with cross-functional teams to help ensure accurate financial reporting while contributing to process improvements and maintaining a strong control environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Prepare recurring and general month-end journal entries with proper support; ensure accuracy and timely submission within tight close timelines.
  • Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts monthly, maintain audit-ready documentation, and promptly resolve reconciling items.
  • Support with the full month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial close process ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
  • Analyse general ledger activity to identify unusual transactions, trends, and variances.
  • Prepare accruals, prepaid expense, accrued & deferred revenue, lease accounting and fixed asset entries and related reconciliations.
  • Support with payroll accounting & reporting and related reconciliations, including reconciliation of payroll schedules and related balance sheet accounts.
  • Support intercompany accounting activities, including reconciliations, settlements, and billing requests.
  • Support VAT returns activities, including reconciliations ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Assist with cash postings, bank reconciliations, and cash account analysis.
  • Support preparation and review of management accounts, variance analysis, and commentary for local and Group leadership.
  • Prepare supporting schedules for financial reporting and management requests.
  • Support external statutory financial statement audits (FRS), internal audits, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance activities by preparing schedules, supporting documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
  • Support annual/quarterly compliance filings with relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure all accounting records are complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with company policies and local GAAP and Group reporting requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement efficiencies.
  • Support special projects, system implementations, and ad hoc financial analyses as assigned.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP/IFRS; familiarity with Irish statutory requirements advantageous).
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and month-end close.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, LOOKUPs, SUMIFS, etc.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of team, positively contributing to a team culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) .
  • Experience with SAP, ideally SAP S/4HANA, preferred.
  • Experience operating within a multinational or Group reporting structure strongly preferred.
