Position Summary

The Human Resources Intern serves as a key member of the Human Resources team, supporting a broad range of people initiatives and operational activities that contribute to Formerra's business success. This role provides hands-on experience across multiple HR disciplines, including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee engagement, talent management, HR operations, compliance, communications, workforce analytics, and organizational development. The intern will collaborate with HR professionals, business leaders, and employees to support programs, projects, and processes that enhance the employee experience, strengthen organizational effectiveness, and help drive business performance. Through meaningful contributions and exposure to strategic HR initiatives, the intern will gain a comprehensive understanding of how Human Resources partners with leaders to attract, develop, engage, and retain talent across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with new hire onboarding activities, orientation scheduling, preparation of onboarding materials, and Day 1 coordination.
  • Support HR communications, including newsletters, policy updates, employee announcements, organizational change communications, and wellness initiatives.
  • Maintain employee records and support data entry, reporting, and process administration within the HRIS and other HR systems.
  • Assist with employee engagement programs, recognition initiatives, surveys, and action planning activities.
  • Support talent management processes, including performance management cycles, talent reviews, succession planning activities, and career development initiatives.
  • Coordinate compliance training activities and maintain training records to support regulatory and company requirements.
  • Compile HR metrics, dashboards, and workforce analytics, and assist in identifying trends and insights to support business decisions.
  • Support organizational development and change management initiatives through research, communication planning, and project coordination.
  • Assist with compensation and rewards projects, including market data analysis, incentive plan administration support, and employee recognition programs.
  • Support exit interview administration, survey analysis, and reporting on retention and attrition trends.
  • Participate in special projects related to employee experience, organizational effectiveness, process improvement, and HR best practices.
  • Manage general HR administrative tasks, including monitoring the HR inbox, responding to routine inquiries, coordinating documents, processing invoices, and supporting team operations.

Qualifications

Required

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees and business leaders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support data-driven decision making.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook; experience with data analysis and reporting tools is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to take initiative, learn quickly, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources, Talent Management, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Availability to work 20 to 30 hours per week in an office-based environment.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Preferred

  • Previous internship, campus leadership, volunteer, or work experience in HR, business, customer service, or administrative support.
  • Experience working with data, reporting, surveys, or presentations.
  • Familiarity with HRIS, applicant tracking systems, or workforce analytics tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership through student organizations, athletics, community involvement, or campus activities.
