Job Summary:

As a Government Contracting Accounting Senior Manager within our CAAS practice, you will play a critical leadership role supporting government contracting clients with complex, compliance-driven accounting and advisory needs. This position offers the opportunity to lead client relationships, provide strategic guidance, oversee compliance and accounting engagements, and help organizations navigate the evolving regulatory requirements associated with doing business with the federal government.

You will play a leadership role in the continued growth of Frazier & Deeter's GovCon team, helping expand the firm's market presence, develop new client relationships, cultivate business opportunities, and strengthen Frazier & Deeter's position within the government contracting community. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in FAR and DCAA compliance, experience managing multiple client engagements, and a passion for helping government contractors achieve their business objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple government contractor client engagements, serving as a trusted advisor on accounting, compliance, operational, and financial matters
  • Provide guidance related to FAR, DCAA requirements, Cost Accounting Standards, indirect rate structures, cost allowability, and allocability
  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, indirect cost rate calculations, incurred cost submissions, and other compliance-related deliverables
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities to expand services and deliver additional value
  • Advise clients on DCAA audit readiness, compliance assessments, process improvements, and government contract accounting best practices
  • Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, forward pricing rate development, and proposal pricing support
  • Participate in business development activities, including networking, industry conferences, proposal development, and relationship building within the government contracting community
  • Stay current on government contracting regulations, accounting standards, and industry trends to proactively advise clients
  • Lead and mentor managers, senior accountants, and staff accountants, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment
  • Manage engagement budgets, staffing, timelines, and profitability while ensuring exceptional client service
  • Ensure high-quality deliverables are completed accurately and timely while exceeding client expectations

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA license preferred
  • 8+ years of experience supporting government contractor clients
  • Demonstrated experience in public accounting, consulting, outsourced accounting, or other multi-client professional services environments
  • Experience with government contract accounting software such as Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, PROCAS, or similar platforms required
  • Experience leading client relationships and managing multiple concurrent engagements
  • Demonstrated business development, networking, and relationship management skills
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed to support client engagements, industry conferences, networking opportunities, and business development activities
