Research Patient Recruitment Coordinator

The Coordinator, Research Patient Recruitment is responsible for enhancing clinical trial enrollment through proactive, systematic patient identification and pre-screening. Focuses on expanding the recruitment pipeline by conducting protocol-driven chart reviews and initial eligibility assessments and partnering closely with local clinical research coordinators to support timely enrollment while maintaining regulatory and quality standards.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct protocol-specific pre-screening activities to identify potentially eligible patients using electronic medical records, and other approved data sources in adherence to all applicable regulations, guidelines, standards, and institutional policies and procedures (45 CFR 46, 21 CFR 50/56, HIPAA, IRB policies and procedures, and study-specific approvals, ICH-GCP, sponsor-specific protocols, and applicable Clinical Trials Office policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Apply inclusion and exclusion criteria to generate targeted lists of potential participants, according to IRB-approved pre-screening and recruitment methods, and communicate findings to local trial coordinators for eligibility confirmation and coordination of next steps.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of pre-screening activities in accordance with study requirements and institutional policies and track and report recruitment metrics, including screening volume and referral outcomes, as requested.
• Collaborate with investigators, coordinators, and study teams to support enrollment strategies and recruitment plans and goals and support continuous improvement efforts related to recruitment workflows and enrollment efficiency.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in a health sciences, life sciences, public health, or related field, or equivalent experience or enrollment in a medical degree program (MD, DO, or equivalent).

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Experience in clinical research, healthcare, or patient-facing roles required. Familiarity with electronic medical records and clinical documentation required. Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret protocol eligibility criteria required. Excellent communication and organizational skills. required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and internet functions, as required. Prior experience with clinical trial recruitment or feasibility assessments. Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to human subjects research preferred. Experience working in an academic medical center or community based research-intensive environment preferred.
