🛠️ Diesel Mechanic – Rayne, Louisiana
Job Type: Full-Time Pay: $24–$27/hour (based on experience) Overtime: Time-and-a-half after 40 hours, that’s $36 - $40.50/hour Schedule:
- Monday–Friday, 1:30 p.m. – Midnight
- Every 3rd Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- 50–60 hours/week
🔧 What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll keep our fleet of garbage trucks running strong by:
- Handling repairs, inspections, and safety checks
- Diagnosing and fixing electrical, hydraulic, brake, suspension, and air systems
- Using vehicle computer systems to troubleshoot and adjust engine controls
- Reviewing and completing driver inspection reports
- Logging work in fleet maintenance software
- Test-driving trucks after service
- Pitching in with teammates and keeping the shop clean
- Interacting professionally with drivers
- Taking on other duties as assigned
What You Bring
- 3+ years of diesel or heavy truck maintenance experience
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair techniques
- Basic tool set (we help with a monthly allowance)
- Hydraulic experience is a plus
- ASE certification is a plus
- Class A or B CDL is a plus
