Television Test Producer CB

((Station)), the ((AAA)) affiliate in ((location)), has an opening for a Local News Producer who knows how to create meaningful and memorable newscasts. The ideal candidate has creative vision, experience making decisions and the ability to communicate a clear plan.

The Local News Producer knows how to win the big story, own breaking news and display important weather information. This position requires speed, accuracy and the ability to work well with a team of like-minded professionals. Accuracy is job one. You will report to the ((manager)).

Responsibilities

• Select, research and write content for live newscasts to make the newscast an experience for viewers.
• Work with and guide reporters in story production.
• Coordinate creative vision with anchors, reporters, meteorologists, photographers, editors and production staff.
• Booth assigned newscasts, breaking news and weather events.
• Produce live newscasts.

Requirements

• Professional or college producing experience.
• Experience working in a newsroom.
• Strong writing and copy-editing skills.
• Ability to coordinate several crews and responsibilities simultaneously.
• Experience summarizing information into easy-to-understand components.
• Creative presentation style and the ability to showcase all resources and elements.
• Highest journalistic integrity and ethical standards.
• Availability to work holidays and shifts, including nights, weekends and overnights.
• Flexibility to be available during breaking news.
• Related military experience will be considered.
