Job summary:

Acrisure is seeking a Claims Associate to provide administrative and claims processing support to the team in Florence, Alabama. This role supports the day-to-day handling of insurance claims by reviewing claim documentation, entering and maintaining claim information, processing correspondence and authorized expenses, and helping ensure claim files are accurate, complete, and organized.

The Claims Associate will regularly work with claim forms, medical records, and other supporting documentation while partnering closely with claims professionals throughout the claims process. Previous claims-related experience is important for this position, with workers' compensation claims experience strongly preferred. Candidates with backgrounds in medical claims, medical insurance, or medical records handling may also bring highly relevant experience to the role.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with claim and medical information in a deadline-driven environment. Responsibilities:

  • Review claim forms, medical records, and other claim-related documentation for required and complete information
  • Enter new claim information into the claims management system and maintain accurate existing claim files
  • Review incoming documentation and ensure information is appropriately associated with the correct claim
  • Prepare letters, forms, and other correspondence on behalf of claims adjusters
  • Scan, organize, index, and route incoming claim documents and daily mail
  • Process authorized claim-related expenses and payments in accordance with established procedures
  • Maintain accurate electronic claim records and supporting documentation
  • Handle incoming calls and make outgoing calls as needed to support claim activity
  • Identify missing or incomplete information and coordinate appropriate follow-up
  • Provide administrative and processing support to claims adjusters and other team members
  • Monitor assigned work for accuracy, completeness, and timely processing
  • Perform additional claims support and administrative duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with insurance claims, medical claims, medical insurance, medical records, or a closely related claims environment required
  • Workers' compensation claims experience strongly preferred
  • Experience reviewing and processing claim documentation, medical records, or other detailed insurance or healthcare information highly beneficial
  • Understanding of insurance claims processes and terminology beneficial
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately review and maintain claim information
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and deadlines
  • Ability to identify incomplete or missing information and follow established procedures to resolve issues
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with claims professionals, internal business partners, and external contacts
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications required
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook beneficial
  • Experience with claims management systems or similar insurance or healthcare systems beneficial

Education and licenses:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Current and valid driver's license required
  • Additional education or training in insurance, claims, healthcare, business, or a related field beneficial

Pay Details:

The base compensation range for this position is $18 - $24. This range reflects Acrisure's good faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.

Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
