This individual serves as a primary liaison among the client, design team, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project team. The Project Manager must understand the complex mechanical, electrical, controls, life-safety, and commissioning requirements associated with mission-critical construction while demonstrating the characteristics of a mid-level leader.
Responsibilities

- Manage mission-critical and data center projects from preconstruction through final closeout
- Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets, forecasts, schedules, and cost reports
- Lead project meetings and communicate progress, risks, milestones, and financial performance to clients and internal leadership
- Manage RFIs, submittals, procurement logs, pay applications, change orders, and project documentation
- Coordinate closely with the superintendent and site operations team throughout the project
- Oversee subcontractor performance, scope compliance, scheduling, and financial commitments
- Review drawings, specifications, and scopes of work for accuracy, constructability, and coordination
- Support procurement and installation of long-lead equipment and critical MEP systems
- Coordinate with design teams, commissioning agents, utility providers, vendors, and trade partners
- Manage complex project logistics, phased construction, equipment turnover, and work within active environments
- Identify project risks and develop solutions that protect the interests of HITT and the client
- Ensure quality-control plans, testing requirements, and commissioning activities are completed and documented
- Lead project closeout, including punch-list completion, owner training, turnover documentation, and final acceptance
- Mentor and support Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and other project team members
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and industry partners
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; a four-year degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or business is strongly preferred
- Additional relevant construction experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Five or more years of commercial construction experience with a general contractor
- Direct experience managing mission-critical, data center, semiconductor, clean room, or similarly complex technical projects required
- Strong understanding of MEP systems, long-lead procurement, testing, commissioning, and turnover processes
- Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, contracts, change orders, and subcontractors
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam, Adobe, JD Edwards, or comparable construction-management systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate clearly with clients, project teams, subcontractors, and senior leadership
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills
- Commitment to continuous improvement, collaboration, integrity, and HITT’s core values
- Ability to work from the Santa Clara office and assigned project sites throughout the Bay Area
