Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking an Electronic Trading Support Engineer to join our Trade Operations (TradeOps) team in Singapore. This team is responsible for managing HRT’s live trading environment, one of the most robust and efficient electronic trading platforms in the world. This includes configuring, monitoring, and optimizing the firm’s trading as well as handling risk, regulatory, and development tasks.
In a high-performance environment, immediate awareness of and reaction to systems and trading issues is essential. That’s where Electronic Trading Support Engineers come in. The TradeOps team's scope covers everything from systems infrastructure to compliance, risk management, overnight clearing, and performance improvement. The team focuses on automating common tasks and preparing for the unexpected. Your day could consist of debugging to get a process running in time for the market open, making a difficult on-the-spot decision that balances compliance, risk, and PnL during trading hours, or coordinating the technical rollout of a new trading strategy.
Responsibilities
- Handle order flow from HRT’s trading desks
- Respond to external market alerts and outages
- Interface with exchanges and other external parties to support trading
- Manage new initiatives and ensure a smooth trading day
- Design trading workflows and translate trading requirements into automation workflows
- Be the first line of defense when the inevitable happens, and the subject matter expert on recent changes to the production trading platform
Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of Linux systems
- Working experience with Python
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (CS, Engineering, Physics, Math, etc.)
- Experience in APAC markets
- 2+ years of professional trading experience in quantitative trading, high-frequency trading (HFT), options market making or related fields
- Strong foundational and practical knowledge in one or more of these asset classes: Equities, Futures, Options, Fixed Income, ETFs, Crypto
- Previous experience communicating with traders, quants, and/or risk managers
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high pressure environment
