Key Responsibilities

Manage and execute end-to-end Record-to-Report (R2R) processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and adjustments.

Manage Intercompany accounting activities, including intercompany reconciliations, balancing, issue resolution, and month-end closing activities.

Perform and monitor period-end settlement cycles in SAP S/4HANA, ensuring accurate allocation, assessment, distribution, and settlement of costs to cost centers, profit centers, internal orders, and business units.

Ensure timely completion of financial closing cycles, including recurring journal entries, accrual settlements, and other month-end and year-end activities.

Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to reporting timelines.

Utilize SAP S/4HANA for financial postings, reconciliations, reporting, and data extraction activities.

Perform balance sheet reviews, identify risks and opportunities, and ensure corrective actions are implemented timely.

Conduct financial analysis and support management reporting requirements.

Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, accounting policies, and audit standards.

Identify, recommend, and implement process improvement and automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation, schedules, and explanations.

Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for R2R processes, SAP S/4HANA functionalities, intercompany accounting, and settlement activities.

Collaborate with global stakeholders and business units to resolve accounting issues and ensure service delivery excellence.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Commerce Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.

Minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience in R2R processes within a BPO, Shared Services, or Global Business Services environment.

Strong working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA.

Experience in handling Intercompany Accounting, Reconciliations, and Settlement Cycles.

Proven experience in preparing and presenting P&L and Balance Sheet reports to senior stakeholders.

Strong understanding of month-end and year-end closing processes.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting tools.

Team supervision and Escalation Management

Resource planning and workload management

Preferred Qualifications

Commerce graduate, or equivalent.

Experience working in multinational BPO, Shared Services, or Global Business Services organizations.

Good spoken and written skills in Japanese

Shift Details

The role operates on a shift schedule, typically mirror Japan working hours 8:00 to 5:00pm local time, and may require flexibility based on project and business requirements.
