The Production Line Support role is a critical production support position responsible for maintaining line stability, minimizing downtime, and supporting safe, high-quality panel production. This role provides operational coverage across certified technician stations, fills in for absenteeism and Team Lead coverage when needed, and serves as a trainer and technical resource for new hires.

Production Line Support associates are fully certified in all designated technician functions within their assigned department (Pre-Lam or Post-Lam) and are expected to demonstrate strong troubleshooting capability, leadership presence, and ownership of line performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fill in for Team Lead when absent or as directed.
  • Provide break, lunch, and absenteeism coverage across certified technician stations.
  • Maintain strong attendance, professionalism, and positive team communication.
  • Demonstrate strong troubleshooting capability across certified machines; master at least three (3) machines within assigned area.
  • Monitor production lines and proactively address slowdowns or downtime.
  • Track and document downtime accurately.
  • Use PDA scanner to escalate issues outside of role scope to Equipment or Maintenance.
  • Escalate safety, quality, and equipment concerns immediately to Team Lead.
  • Monitor tools and supplies; notify Team Lead of needs at beginning of shift.
  • Maintain all production and quality checklists.
  • Train and coach new hires within certified areas.
  • Support problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualification Requirements

  • Must be certified in all designated Technician functions within assigned department (e.g., soldering, framing, module rework, string rework, etc.).
  • Certification must be validated and documented by the Training team.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience as a Technician.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous manufacturing or equipment operation experience preferred.
  • Strong technical aptitude.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and equipment interfaces.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and integrity.
  • Reliability and strong attendance record.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Fully onsite.
  • Fixed 12-hour shifts (day or night depending on assigned team).
  • Work performed around production equipment and in confined spaces.
  • PPE required including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and area-specific requirements.

Physical Requirements

This role requires continuous physical activity throughout a 12-hour shift, including:

  • Standing up to 12 hours
  • Walking production areas up to 12 hours
  • Bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs
  • Reaching forward and downward regularly
  • Close visual attention including flashing stack lights and production cues
  • Ability to maneuver between equipment spaces as required by layout
