Who We’re Looking For
We’re hiring a Software Engineer to help design and deliver reliable, cloud-enabled applications. This role is ideal for someone who has moved beyond entry-level development and is ready to take ownership of features, contribute to system design discussions, and continue growing within a collaborative engineering team.
Rather than a traditional job description, below is an overview of what this position focuses on day-to-day:
Primary Responsibilities
- Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to plan and implement new functionality.
- Build well-structured, efficient, and scalable solutions across frontend and backend services.
- Work with technologies such as React, Angular, Vue, Node.js, Python, Go, Java, or C#.
- Create and maintain APIs and service-based architectures that connect systems reliably.
- Support deployments and operations in AWS or GCP environments, learning best practices for cloud-native development.
- Review peer code, apply feedback from others, and help raise overall engineering standards.
- Keep current with evolving tools and engineering practices, applying new ideas where they add value.
What We’re Looking For
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in software development roles.
- Practical experience with one or more backend languages such as Node.js, Python, Go, Java, or C#.
- Experience using at least one modern frontend framework like React, Angular, or Vue.
- Familiarity with API design and service-oriented or microservice-based systems.
- Exposure to public cloud platforms, including deploying or supporting applications on AWS or GCP.
- A thoughtful approach to problem-solving and writing clean, maintainable code.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills in a fast-moving, agile environment.
Where We're Looking For It
Onsite in Schenectady, New York
Other Information
The work hours will be approximately 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST, depending on workload, with the occasional late night when a tight deadline calls for it. We work for security-conscious clients, thus background checks will be required. Salary dependent upon experience.
