Associate Experience Design Researcher

This entry-level role supports user research across the product lifecycle, helping teams better understand customer needs, behaviors, and experiences. You’ll contribute to research studies that inform product strategy, design decisions, and improvements to digital experiences. The role offers exposure to qualitative and quantitative research methods, including interviews, usability testing, surveys, and diary studies. You’ll collaborate closely with designers, product managers, developers, and other stakeholders in a remote-first environment. Your insights will help shape user-centered, accessible, and impactful products for financial services customers. This is an opportunity to build practical UX research experience while learning from experienced cross-functional teams. The position is well suited to a curious, empathetic, detail-oriented professional beginning a career in experience design research.

Accountabilities

• Assist with planning and conducting user research studies, including usability testing, interviews, surveys, and diary studies.
• Recruit, screen, and schedule research participants while maintaining organized research workflows.
• Collect, organize, and document qualitative and quantitative research data.
• Analyze research findings and contribute to identifying meaningful patterns, themes, and user insights.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to translate research findings into actionable recommendations.
• Prepare research documentation, reports, presentations, and other materials that communicate findings clearly.
• Support the creation of research deliverables such as personas, journey maps, and presentation decks.
• Contribute to efforts that promote accessibility, inclusive design, and user-centered product development.
• Stay current with UX research methodologies, tools, trends, and industry best practices.
• Take on additional research and team responsibilities as needed.
• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Design, Information Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience, with academic, internship, extracurricular, or other UX/research project experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of UX research methods, practices, and the product research lifecycle.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly.
• Curiosity, empathy, and genuine interest in understanding user needs and behaviors.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, particularly when managing research data and multiple activities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.
• Familiarity with research and design tools such as Lyssna, HeyMarvin, Figma, UserTesting, Dovetail, or Optimal Workshop is beneficial.
• Exposure to accessibility and inclusive design principles.
• Ability to create clear, straightforward research deliverables such as personas, journey maps, and slide presentations.
• Willingness to learn new research techniques, tools, and approaches.
• Part-time remote position based in the United States.
• Pay range of $23.17–$29.52 per hour, with actual compensation based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
