About Cherry 🍒
Founded in 2019, Cherry is a fast-growing FinTech offering the simplest, fastest, and most inclusive patient financing solution for medical practices—including dental, medical aesthetics, veterinary, and more. We help practices treat more patients by making care financially accessible. Cherry is led by Stanford entrepreneurs with a previous successful exit and is backed by top investors, including Kleiner Perkins and DCM.
About the Role
With strong product-market fit and rapid adoption across partner practices, we’re accelerating the growth of our U.S. engineering team. You’ll join at a meaningful inflection point with the ability to influence architecture, product direction, and engineering culture as we reshape how patients pay for care.
We’re looking for ownership-minded engineers to contribute to major systems across multiple products as we scale our platform, and support our expansion into more practices and healthcare verticals.
This is an opportunity to build from the ground up, work with some of the best and brightest, and grow into a future leader at Cherry.

- Build and improve observability, monitoring, and metrics that make our products safer, faster, and more reliable for practices and patients.
- Collaborate with product, design, data, and operations to rapidly deliver high-impact features and experiment toward measurable outcomes.
What You Need
- Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, with graduation expected before your start date.
- Strong programming fundamentals and experience building software through internships, coursework, research, personal projects, or other hands-on experience.
- Curiosity across the stack and an eagerness to learn modern frameworks, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and how production systems operate.
- A generalist mindset: you’re excited to tackle unfamiliar problems, learn quickly, and contribute wherever you can have the most impact.
- Thrives in ambiguous and fast-paced environments with a strong willingness to push yourself and grow.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills. This includes the ability to maintain regular morning collaboration windows with teammates in Europe.
Nice-to-Haves
- Internship experience at an early-stage startup
- Familiarity with one or more technologies in our stack, such as React, TypeScript, Node.js, Kotlin, Postgres, Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, or Temporal.
- Exposure to building or integrating APIs, internal tools, dashboards, workflow automations, or other software used by real users.
- Side projects, open-source contributions, hackathons, research, or other examples of software you’ve built outside of the classroom.
