Position Overview
Sr. Fastener Engineer, part of the global Fastener Engineering team and resident subject matter expert at AMP-2 production facilities. This role will function as the primary point of contact for cross-functional teams for all topics related to fastener engineering in KSA and ensure execution of joining per design intent.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as primary fastener engineering liaison between AMP-2 plant vehicle engineering and design engineering at L1 headquarters.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams such as Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Service, Purchasing, Suppliers and other internal and external partners to develop robust joint solutions to facilitate world class designs.
- Identify, perform root-cause analysis, and devise solutions to fastener issues on the manufacturing floor.
- Accurately assess assembly fastener joint condition with respect to parts, tools, process, and people.
- Track and monitor the progress of fastener selections, releasing and validation activities.
- Act as the local subject matter expert for fastener selection, joint theory, product knowledge, and assembly processes.
- Support and define processes and standards cross-functionally among design engineering, manufacturing engineering, SIE, and SQE.
- Perform bolted joint analysis using the tools available to Lucid.
Skills
- Technical understanding of bolted joint mechanics and the relationship between torque and preload.
- Ability to interpret torque-angle graphs, operate assembly tools, read force-deflection load diagrams, create joint calculations.
- Robust understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals and mechanics of materials.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of the Engineering Change Release (ECR) process.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years professional experience in a technical mechanical engineering role (or related field). Bonus: previous experience working with fasteners in a professional capacity.
- Technical 4-year degree from an accredited university.
- Previous experience working with bolted joints and fasteners.
- Proven 3D CAD skills, proficient with CATIA V5/V6 or similar software.
- Solid understanding of GD&T standards, material selections, and DFM principles.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Automotive sector.
- Proven track record of involvement in engineering projects and design. Hands-on practical experience in prototype assembly and production assembly.

Hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid time off, and salaried/exempt employee accrue up to 160 hours paid time off. Incentive and equity awards, if applicable, are determined based on individual performance, role scope, market considerations, and overall company results, in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
