Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is hiring four Registered Nurse Case Managers at our main campus in Manhattan.
Ready for a change from traditional bedside nursing—but not ready to step away from patient care? As an RN Case Manager at MSK, you’ll use your clinical judgment and nursing experience in a new way, helping patients and families navigate complex cancer care.
Case management is much more than paperwork. You’ll assess patient needs, solve problems, advocate for patients, and work closely with nurses, physicians, social workers, insurance providers, and other partners. While case management experience is preferred, experienced hospital nurses with strong transferable skills are encouraged to apply.
Role Overview:
- Provide case management for a group of oncology patients
- Begin assessing discharge-planning needs when a patient is admitted
- Review each patient’s progress and identify the services needed for a safe and timely transition to the next level of care
- Coordinate home care, equipment, services, and follow-up care
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide continuity throughout treatment and follow-up
- Communicate with physicians and clinical nursing staff about ongoing patient care
- Connect with insurance carriers and MSK billing teams to obtain treatment authorizations and support appeals
- Follow select patients in the outpatient setting
Key Qualifications:
- Current New York State Registered Nurse license and registration required
- BSN required
- At least two to three years of clinical hospital nursing experience
- Case management, utilization review, or managed-care experience strongly preferred—but not required
- Knowledge of state and federal health-insurance regulations preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Additional Information:
- Schedule: Five eight-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with on-call responsibilities and rotating weekend coverage
