Maintenance Engineer
Education
- Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or
- BE/B.Tech in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering with 2-3 years of relevant experience
Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Maintenance Engineer to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and continuous operation of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. The role involves planning and executing preventive and corrective maintenance activities, improving equipment performance, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting digital and automation initiatives within the plant.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment & Facility Maintenance
- Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify equipment issues and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain electrical, pneumatic, utility, and chiller systems to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Troubleshoot and repair faulty electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise repair, installation, and maintenance activities.
Reliability & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze equipment performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Monitor and improve key maintenance metrics such as MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair).
- Support machinery upgrades, automation initiatives, and process improvement projects.
- Recommend and implement new technologies or equipment that improve operational efficiency.
Maintenance Planning & Documentation
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve maintenance procedures and schedules.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and equipment history.
- Manage spare parts inventory and ensure timely procurement of maintenance tools and materials.
- Monitor maintenance costs and support budget control activities.
Compliance & Safety
- Conduct electrical safety checks and ensure equipment compliance with safety regulations.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with EHS and statutory requirements.
- Identify facility-related risks and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Coordinate with external contractors and service providers while ensuring compliance with company standards.
Digitalization & Project Support
- Support ERP implementation and maintenance KPI dashboard initiatives.
- Assist in project management and plant improvement programs.
- Support Omron automation system implementation and remediation activities.
- Utilize and support SAP and MES systems for maintenance planning, reporting, and execution.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance practices.
- Experience with manufacturing equipment, utilities, and facility maintenance.
- Understanding of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and chiller systems.
- Knowledge of maintenance KPIs, including MTBF and MTTR.
- Familiarity with SAP, ERP, and MES systems.
- Exposure to PLCs and automation systems, preferably Omron.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
