Find your calling at Mercy! Position Details: Position Details: The Mercy Nurse Educator/Clinical Instructor serves a dual role in nursing student education and caregiver development. This position functions as the primary liaison between Mercy and affiliated nursing programs, coordinating student clinical experiences, and preceptor assignments. This role also supports the onboarding and development of Mercy caregivers through orientation and required hospital training. This role supports Mercy's commitment to education, workforce development, and excellence in patient care Application will close September 18th Minimum Required: • If Bachelor's degree has been attained, 2 years' clinical experience is required. If Associate's degree is the highest level of degree attained, 10 years' hospital nursing experience or 5 years' hospital nursing experience if active enrollment in a RN to BSN program. • Current appropriate state license if required in discipline. • BLS provider. • Demonstrates clinical knowledge related to evidence-based practice with the credibility to positively influence the delivery of patient care. • Proven ability to organize and multitask to meet project deadlines. • Computer skills in Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of audiovisual equipment is an advantage. • Knowledge of equipment/technology used in delivery of patient care. Preferred: • 2 years' teaching experience. Why Mercy? Transforming the Health of Our Communities Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States. In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest.
