Position Overview
As a Project Controls Manager, you will lead project controls functions supporting large-scale hyperscale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for cost management, forecasting, budgeting, schedule integration, progress measurement, reporting, change management, and project performance analysis throughout the project lifecycle.
This role serves as a critical partner to project management, field operations, scheduling, procurement, accounting, engineering, and executive leadership teams. You will provide the visibility, analysis, and reporting necessary to support sound decision-making, proactive risk management, and successful project execution.
Success requires strong financial and analytical acumen, leadership capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to convert complex project data into actionable business insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project controls activities supporting mission-critical and hyperscale infrastructure projects from project startup through closeout.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, cost reports, KPIs, and performance dashboards.
- Support project scheduling integration, progress tracking, forecasting, and performance measurement efforts.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify project risks, trends, opportunities, and corrective actions.
- Oversee project reporting processes and provide meaningful project performance analysis to project leadership and executive stakeholders.
- Drive consistency and continuous improvement across project controls processes, systems, and reporting standards.
What You'll Do
- Manage project controls functions for hyperscale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects.
- Monitor project costs, committed costs, labor productivity, procurement status, schedule performance, forecasts, and cash flow.
- Lead monthly forecasting activities and support project managers in evaluating project performance and financial health.
- Develop and maintain project reporting tools, executive dashboards, performance metrics, and status updates.
- Analyze project trends and identify potential budget overruns, schedule impacts, procurement risks, and operational opportunities.
- Partner with project managers, schedulers, field leadership, and procurement teams to improve forecasting accuracy and project performance.
- Support project reviews, financial reviews, risk assessments, and executive reporting activities.
- Assist with change management, cost tracking, earned value analysis, and project closeout reporting.
- Facilitate communication between operations, accounting, project management, and executive leadership teams.
- Support implementation of project controls best practices, systems, and reporting improvements.

What It Takes
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business, Project Management, or a related discipline and 7+ years of project controls, cost controls, project management, scheduling, engineering, construction, or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience supporting large-scale mission-critical, hyperscale data center, EPC, industrial, utility, power, heavy civil, or infrastructure construction projects.
- Strong understanding of project controls principles including budgeting, forecasting, cost management, scheduling integration, progress measurement, cash flow analysis, and reporting.
- Experience developing and managing project budgets, forecasts, KPIs, executive reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Experience evaluating procurement performance, labor productivity, project costs, schedule impacts, and operational trends.
- Experience collaborating with project management, field operations, scheduling, engineering, accounting, procurement, and executive leadership teams.
- Strong understanding of change management, risk management, project forecasting, and project execution processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Primavera P6, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Power BI, Oracle Primavera, InEight, SAP, Oracle, or similar project controls software is preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel approximately 75% and support long-term onsite project assignments throughout North America as required. Travel may include extended durations based on project assignments and business needs.
