About the Opportunity
Job Summary
Reporting to one of the Senior Assistant Directors within Residential Life at Northeastern University, the Operations Coordinator oversees the facilities and operational functions of a complex of residential communities, including daily operation and maintenance updates. Encompassing a wide range of operational duties, including building preparedness, facilities management, emergency response, student support and enhancing community living. The Coordinator is a live-off position that provides point of contact student support.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Management
- Partnering with Housing Operations maintains accurate records of student housing assignments, move-ins, and move-outs.
- Oversee the documentation of maintenance requests, incident reports, and other relevant records.
- Ensure compliance with university policies and federal regulations related to student housing.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on housing occupancy, maintenance issues, and other relevant metrics.
Facilities Management
- Coordinate with Facilities Services to ensure timely resolution of facility-related issues.
- Conduct regular inspections of residence halls to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
- Oversee the implementation of preventative maintenance programs.
Student Support and Community Building
- Serve as the point of contact for community complex, to provide a welcoming environment for students and visitors
- Provide point of contact support for students regarding housing, living, or facilities concerns.
- Oversee student worker coverage of area offices
- Manage move-in and move-out process and building preparedness for a complex of communities.
- Serve as a conduct officer for health and safety violations, and low-level student handbook violations
- Collaborate with other university departments to enhance student support services.
Emergency Management
- Schedules can include evening operations management, including conducting rounds to ensure the safety and security of a group of residential complexes as needed.
- Coordinate with campus security and emergency services as needed.
Supervision and Staff Development
- Supervise a team of student workers
- Conduct regular meetings and training sessions for staff members.
- Provide training and developmental opportunities for Resident Assistants throughout the year.
- Assist in the recruitment and selection of new staff members.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Experience: Experience with higher education, facilities management, operational functions, and/or community development.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle emergencies calmly and effectively.
- Proficiency in student housing management software, Maxient, and Workday.

Expected Hiring Range:
$23.37 - $32.14
