Our Global Diabetes Capability Center in Pune is expanding to serve more people living with diabetes globally. Our state-of-the-art facility is dedicated to transforming diabetes management through innovative solutions and Technologies that reduce the burden of living with diabetes.

This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Minimed’s Diabetes business. We are seeking a talented Tools & Automation Software Engineer to develop and maintain software tools, automation frameworks, and CI/CD platforms that accelerate the development of next-generation embedded medical devices. This role focuses on improving engineering productivity, software quality, test automation, compliance, and release efficiency within a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop tools and automation solutions that support the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Build and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines for embedded firmware, cloud, and application software.
  • Automate software build, test, validation, release, and compliance workflows.
  • Integrate automated testing frameworks, including Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments.
  • Develop solutions that improve traceability between requirements, source code, testing, and releases.
  • Implement automated quality gates, static analysis, security scanning, and compliance reporting.
  • Support development and test infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
  • Create dashboards and metrics that provide visibility into software quality, testing, and pipeline performance.
  • Evaluate and apply AI-assisted engineering tools and workflows to improve productivity and efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, developer tools, test automation, or CI/CD.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, C, C++, JS and scripting for automation.
  • Experience with Git, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with Linux-based development environments and container technologies such as Docker.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
  • Strong troubleshooting, collaboration, and technical communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in regulated industries such as Medical Devices, Aerospace, or Automotive.
  • Familiarity with IEC 62304, FDA software lifecycle processes, and compliance automation.
  • Experience with embedded software development, ARM-based microcontrollers, and cross-compilation toolchains.
  • Experience integrating SIL, HIL, simulators, and emulators into automated test environments.
  • Knowledge of static analysis, MISRA compliance, cybersecurity scanning, and quality engineering tools.
  • Exposure to AI technologies, including Generative AI, RAG, MCP, AI agents, or AI-assisted software development tools.

Formulates, delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering R&D, systems or initiatives related to new technologies or therapies – from design to implementation - while adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills.

Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires practical knowledge and demonstrated competence within job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience.
