Summer 2027 Product Management Intern
Summary:
As a Product Management Intern supporting the Specialty Additives business, you will play a key role in a strategic global data standardization initiative that supports the organization's transition to a new M-ERP platform and enhances the accuracy of customer-facing product information.
Throughout the summer, you will work alongside the Specialty Additives Segment Product Manager, Master Data teams, and manufacturing sites around the world to improve and standardize critical product data used across commercial, operational, and customer-facing systems. Your work will directly impact how product information is managed, communicated, and migrated into future business systems.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in product management, ERP systems, master data governance, cross-functional project coordination, and global business operations while contributing to a high-visibility digital transformation effort.
Responsibilities Include:
Product Data Management & Standardization
- Review, analyze, and standardize key SAP master data fields for commercially sold Specialty Additives products.
- Ensure product information is aligned with established business standards and naming conventions.
- Validate data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across global product portfolios.
- Support efforts to improve product information quality and governance within enterprise systems.
- Assist in identifying data discrepancies and developing corrective actions to improve master data integrity.
SAP Master Data Improvement Projects
- Support the cleanup and standardization of critical product information within SAP for Specialty Additives product lines.
- Update and maintain key product master data fields, including: Material Description Field Basic Data Text Field Sales Data Text Field
- Review existing records and implement standardized formatting and business rules.
- Coordinate data updates with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency across systems and locations.
- Verify that updated information accurately reflects product and commercial requirements.
M-ERP Digital Transformation Support
- Contribute to data preparation activities supporting the successful migration from SAP to the new M-ERP platform.
- Assist with data validation and quality assurance efforts prior to migration activities.
- Participate in initiatives designed to improve overall data quality, reporting accuracy, and system effectiveness.
- Support documentation and process improvements that strengthen master data management practices.
- Gain exposure to large-scale enterprise system implementations and business transformation projects.
Global Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with the Specialty Additives Segment Product Manager and Material Master Data Team to execute project objectives.
- Collaborate with manufacturing sites around the world to implement product information updates.
- Communicate with stakeholders across multiple business functions, including Product Management, Supply Chain, Operations, Regulatory, and Commercial teams.
- Participate in project meetings and provide status updates on assigned workstreams.
- Build an understanding of how product information flows through manufacturing, supply chain, sales, and customer-facing processes.
Customer Communication & Change Management
- Support the preparation and distribution of Process Change Notification (PCN) communications associated with product information updates.
- Assist with coordination activities required when product descriptions or labeling information are modified.
- Partner with plant personnel to support relabeling efforts for existing inventory where necessary.
- Help ensure product information updates are communicated accurately and consistently across global locations.
- Contribute to change management activities that support successful implementation of product data updates.
Business Process Improvement & Project Execution
- Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, standardization, and data quality.
- Develop tracking tools and reports to monitor project progress and completion status.
- Utilize Excel and other business systems to organize, analyze, and manage large volumes of product information.
- Document project findings, recommendations, and completed improvements.
- Present project updates and final results to business stakeholders and leadership teams.
Qualifications:
The following are required for the role
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Sophomore standing or higher at the time of the internship.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including working with large data sets and performing detailed data analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Demonstrated organizational and project management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
The following are preferred qualifications:
- Interest in Product Management, Supply Chain, Commercial Operations, Business Systems, or Digital Transformation.
- Familiarity with SAP, ERP systems, databases, or data management concepts.
- Experience working with technical product information or large data sets.
- Knowledge of manufacturing, chemical industry operations, or business process improvement concepts.
- Experience using Excel for data analysis, reporting, and data validation activities.
Program Minimum Qualifications:
- The candidate must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of application and for at least one semester following the conclusion of the internship.
- The candidate is expected to be available 40 hours a week for a period of 10-12 weeks between the months of May and August.

Base Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.00
