Provides support to the medical staff in completing their medical records accurately in accordance with JCAHO and NYSDOH regulations. Analyzes, re-analyzes medical records. Pulls charts for physician completion and notifies physicians of deficiencies.

Education/Training: High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree in Health Information Technology preferred. Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

Experience: Medical Terminology Proficient. Three years Hospital HIM Operations experience required (HIT Associate’s degree could be substituted for experience requirement) Ability to multitask, prioritize and organize required. Solid computer skills.

Licensure, Registration or Certification: RHIT preferred.
