Location: Trinity Health Livonia
Shift: Contingent - Rotating Shift

Position Purpose:
Certified technologist to cover on-call, weekend coverage, weekday coverage and Holiday coverage for technologist on medical leave. Able to perform nuclear medicine procedures, quality control and venipuncture as needed by the department.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of a school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- A baccalaureate degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology is desirable.
- Must be registered by one of the following registries: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
- A registry eligible individual is assigned a somewhat lower status pending certification. Employee has 90 days in which to become registered.
- Must fulfill education requirements above.
- Prior experience in a busy hospital setting is highly desirable.
- Experience with SPECT is highly desirable.
- Experience with Nuclear Cardiology is highly desirable.
What the Nuclear Med Technologist will do:
- Prepares diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals.
- Administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients after explaining procedure and obtaining complete patient history.
- Physically assists patients in assuming required imaging positions to ensure that complete diagnostic studies are obtained.
- Calibrates and operates thyroid uptake systems, Geiger counters, dose calibrators and other departmental equipment.
- Calibrates and operates computerized imaging systems, including SPECT, to image, process, and photograph patient studies.
- Develops film and reviews them with Radiologist. Follows departmental safety policies, including infection control and radiation safety.
