As an ALM Associate Director, Balance Sheet Analytics within PNC's Finance organization, you will be based in New York City, NY or Pittsburgh, PA.

About the Team The PNC Chief Investment Office (CIO) Quantitative Modeling team develops, maintains, and monitors quantitative models supporting investment portfolio management, balance sheet analytics, interest rate risk management, and financial decision-making. The team applies economics, finance, and data-driven research to help model customer behavior, financial markets, macroeconomic trends, and key drivers of business performance
Role Overview We are seeking a quantitative researcher with 5+ years of experience in econometrics, empirical research, statistical modeling, or quantitative analytics. This role applies advanced quantitative methods to customer, transactional, and economic datasets to develop forecasting models, behavioral analytics, and decision-support insights supporting deposit products and balance sheet management.
Candidates should possess strong analytical, programming, and communication skills, along with a demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and effectively communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The successful candidate will conduct empirical research, develop predictive and behavioral models, evaluate customer and product dynamics, and translate analytical findings into actionable business recommendations. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact research problems at the intersection of economics, finance, customer behavior, and quantitative modeling. Education: Master's degree required; PhD preferred.
Qualifications Required • Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Data Science, or a related quantitative field. • 5+ years of experience in empirical research, econometrics, statistical modeling, predictive analytics, or quantitative research. • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with experience working with large structured datasets. • Demonstrated ability to independently formulate research questions, design analytical approaches, execute empirical studies, and communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences. Preferred • PhD in Economics, Finance, Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field. • Experience analyzing deposit, consumer banking, payments, lending, credit card, or other customer-level financial datasets. • Experience with customer behavior modeling, balance forecasting, causal inference, panel-data econometrics, time-series analysis, or machine learning techniques. • Research experience at a Federal Reserve Bank, U.S. Treasury, academic research institution, quantitative consulting firm, fintech, or financial services research team, including publications, working papers, or conference presentations.

Job Description
- Utilizes financial analysis, research, and reporting to facilitate business strategy, process improvements, and remediation activities. Participates in stress testing efforts
- Based on own discretion, researches and collects information for PNC's balance sheet.
- Analyzes, reviews and presents risk analytics/stress testing material including documentation and templates to senior team members.
- Partners with lines of business in understanding specific line items of PNC's balance sheet and income statement. Reconciles and performs quality review of data and may work with various review teams, including model risk management, internal and external audit and regulators
- Facilitates business strategy, process improvements and remediation activities

Pay Transparency
Base Salary: $91,000.00 – $202,800.00
Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education.
