What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide total, patient-centered perioperative care by applying the nursing process in a systematic and organized manner, in accordance with facility policies and patient safety standards
- Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, anesthesia providers, and ancillary departments to ensure seamless, well-coordinated care
- Communicate proactively with the healthcare team regarding changes in patient condition, care plans, patient progress, and discharge needs
- Demonstrate knowledge of nursing responsibilities related to anesthesia administration and monitoring
- Respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations, exercising sound clinical judgment
- Safely transfer patients according to prescribed plans and established protocols
- Create, maintain, and monitor a sterile surgical field throughout procedures
- Perform surgical counts in accordance with facility policy and regulatory standards
- Dispense medications and solutions in compliance with organizational policies
- Manage and monitor the care of surgical patients before, during, and after procedures
- Ensure appropriate equipment and supplies are available based on patient and procedural needs
- Maintain accurate documentation and utilize electronic health record systems effectively
Salary Range:
$40.00–$54.00 per hour
The compensation range listed reflects the anticipated base pay for this position. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, education, skills, and work location.
What You’ll Bring
Education
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Licensure & Certifications
- Active and unrestricted New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of perioperative experience as a Registered Nurse
- Scrub experience preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency with computers and clinical documentation systems
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment
