Description of Work
Murdoch Developmental Center is currently recruiting for a Health Care Technician II located at Alpine Cottage, Unit1 and reports to the Unit Manager. This position serves as a Supervisory technician and monitors the care provided by the Health Care Technician I’s providing feedback to staff as needed. This position provides specialized direct services to adults with intellectual developmental disabilities, some of whom may have behavior problems and/or medical conditions in the form of behavioral programming, habilitative training/activities, and in assisting with necessary health care, personal care and all aspects of daily living.
ALL employees of Murdoch Center are designated as ESSENTIAL for adverse weather and emergency events.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Recruitment Range: $32,444.00 - $48,665.00
*A Sign-on bonus of $2,500 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval.*

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
Necessary Required Training or Certification - As required, listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation. As applicable, listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. As applicable, North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
This position DOES NOT require NA I certification.
Normal working hours are on 1st Shift 6:30a.m. - 3:00p.m., including Holidays and every other weekend . Some flexibility required to meet center's needs.
*Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus*
To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.
