This is a temporary position, and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Note: Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or time-limited position to work in a temporary position. All temporary employees are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time.

Individuals hired into a temporary State job must be fully qualified for the job. This temporary position is located at 301 Ashe Ave, Raleigh, NC 27606 - Wake County, with the Governor Morehead School for the Blind.

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $17.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

The working shift is 6:00 am - 2:30 pm Monday- Friday

Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed in the class specification. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.

Management Preferences:

• Picking up all trash from the areas assigned to them and disposing of it properly throughout the shift
• Cleaning Living areas
• Cleaning and sanitizing classrooms, offices, bathrooms, and showers
• Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sanitizing hard surfaces
• Keeping outside areas neat
• Cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, ensuring they are maintained in sanitary conditions, replenishing paper supplies and soap as needed
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities/Competencies: Knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing procedures, cleaning equipment and supplies
• Ability to understand and effectively communicate to follow GMS policy
• Basic knowledge of receiving and counting inventory with accuracy
• Ability to work independently and perform work duties
