EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Full time, 12 month

PRIMARY DUTY:

The Donor Experience Officer (DXO) builds and matures the leadership annual giving pipeline by managing a high-volume portfolio of prospects through the entire donor journey. Utilizing modern digital communication tools including personalized video, text, phone, and email campaigns. The DXO delivers targeted, authentic outreach to increase donor retention, acquisition, and pipeline growth. The DXO collaborates with advancement staff, university marketing, and campus leadership to align outreach strategies with institutional priorities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Portfolio Management: Actively qualifies, cultivates, and stewardship-manages a digital portfolio of 800+ prospects and leadership annual donors.

• Omnichannel Digital Outreach: Leverages text, personalized video platforms, email, phone, and social media to execute high-volume, meaningful touches that build donor affinity.
• Pipeline Development: Serves as a primary prospect identifier; strategically moves annual donors through the donation pipeline and transitions qualified major gift prospects to development staff members.
• Annual Giving Partnership: Partners with the AVP to execute targeted segments of the annual appeal program, focusing on donor acquisition and upgrading average gift amounts.
• Data & CRM Excellence: Systematically tracks all donor interactions in the CRM; utilizes data and engagement analytics to refine outreach strategies and measure campaign effectiveness.
• Student Talent Management: Recruits, trains, and supervises DXO student interns, fostering a collaborative, metrics-driven student outreach environment.
• Donor Stewardship: In coordination with advancement staff, delivers exceptional, proactive customer service to alumni, donors, and stakeholders related to event outreach.
• Institutional Engagement: Performs other duties as assigned, including assisting with and attending key university advancement events.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience: One (1) year of experience in fundraising, digital sales, public relations, alumni relations, or a related relationship-management field.

Skills & Abilities:

• Superior interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with comfort being "on camera" for personalized video outreach.

• Strong technological aptitude, including experience with CRM databases and digital communication platforms.

• Exceptional organizational and multi-project management skills; ability to work independently in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.

• High emotional intelligence and the ability to engage authentically with high-profile constituents, alumni, and campus partners.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position requires participation in events on occasion outside of normal working hours

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Requires leadership responsibilities, including supervising students

EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS USED:

Knowledge and experience with database management software and audio/visual and computer technologies required

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Able to carry and set-up audio/visual equipment and lift up to 20 pounds .
