For OrthoVirginia, this appears to be a clinic-based Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) role supporting a Spine Surgeon, with shared call responsibilities.
Position Highlights
- Setting: Primarily outpatient clinic
- Specialty: Spine / Orthopedic Surgery
- Schedule: Clinic-focused with rotating call coverage
- Patient Population: New and established spine patients, including surgical and non-surgical cases
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, physical exams, and medical histories.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the spine surgeon.
- Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic studies, including imaging and lab work.
- Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and recovery plans.
- Manage follow-up visits and continuity of care between physician appointments.
- Perform preoperative assessments and ensure all required clearances and diagnostics are completed.
- Support postoperative patient management and recovery.
- Maintain timely and accurate EMR documentation.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and clinical staff to optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in a rotating call schedule.
Ideal Candidate
- Licensed NP or PA.
- Orthopedic, spine, neurosurgery, pain management, or surgical experience preferred.
- Comfortable independently assessing patients while collaborating with a spine surgeon.
- Strong communication, documentation, and patient education skills.
- Experience with pre-op and post-op patient care is highly desirable.
Compensation Range for this position:
$111,200.00 - $166,800.00
Compensation for this role will be based on several factors, including the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, education, skills, certifications, geography/market, and internal equity considerations.
