Salary Range: 38.69 - $58.09
Under the general direction of the Manager of Pharmacy Business Operations, the Pharmacy Financial Analyst serves as pharmacy financial analyst for the health system. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Business analytics and reporting and charge capture/revenue cycle. Monitors and evaluates day-to-day operations of business workflows, including but not limited to information systems, areas of regulatory compliance, and pharmacy billing and revenue cycle. Ensures highest levels of regulatory compliance by creating and maintaining systems of auditable records and leading internal/external audits. Prepares financial plans and makes recommendations related to technology needs/services, maximizing savings of pharmaceutical expenditures, including GPO purchasing contract compliance. Assists with the formulation of annual operating budgets. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and is capable of a high degree of independence in the performance of a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and mentor others within the financial planning of the department. Serves as a resource for Palomar Health managers, directors and executives on the financial performance of reimbursement workflows.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, due to the extensive interaction with department directors and executives that is required. Knowledge of standard office equipment (e.g., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (e.g., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop-down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.
Job Requirements Minimum Education: Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or other closely related field; or a combination of education and experience. Preferred Education: Master Degree in Business Administration or other closely related field Minimum Experience: 3 years' experience in healthcare business operations Preferred Experience: 5 years’ experience in healthcare business operations, experience with regulatory agencies and pharmacy financial management (e.g. HRSA, CMS, CDPH, etc.) Required License: Valid Driver's License Preferred License: Not Applicable Required Certification: Advanced 340B Operations Certificate within 12 months of hire Preferred Certification: Not Applicable
