What Will You Do?

As a Unit Coordinator at Pine Rest, you’ll be part of tight-knit team that believes in the healing power of your expertise and compassion. The Unit Coordinator performs administrative support duties including composing sensitive correspondence, proof reading and editing materials for accuracy and clarity, gathering information to develop reports, maintaining department files, answering the phones, distributing mail, setting up appointments, ordering supplies, attending meetings and bringing back and communicating the information and faxing/copying materials. Uses discretion and judgment when screening visitors and telephone calls, making necessary grammatical or spelling changes in correspondence, and rearranging workload in order to meet deadlines. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans and implements assigned projects from directions given by the Clinical Service Manager, and lead/charge RN, which may have program- or organization-wide significance.
  • Offers administrative support including but not limited to the following tasks: greeting and directing visitors or patients, answering questions based on knowledge of department/organization, answering the phones, appropriately transferring and screening calls, setting appointments, ordering psych testing and inputting data in the computer systems.
  • Assists all of interdisciplinary team, helping on the unit as needed, faxing and copying needed information.
  • Performs record-keeping duties including the following: sorts, classifies, and files semi-complex records, posts appropriate information onto data entry screens, checks and verifies moderately complex arithmetic data, performs routine computations, creates simple queries or may request reports from other data based systems that are semi complex.
  • May schedule patient appointments.
  • May complete all patient orientation for unit.
  • Maintains medical records, including assisting physicians in completing medical records. May handle high-level information to internal and external customers/patients.
  • Releases medical information as necessary and appropriate for continuing medical care, insurance purposes etc.
  • Provides patient care as needed and directed by the charge RN or Clinical Manager.
  • Reports any adverse outcomes for patients and/or staff to the charge RN or Clinical Manager.
  • Holds purchasing authority through ordering and maintaining office supplies, medical supplies, personal hygiene supplies, kitchen supplies and copy work with approval from clinical service manager.
  • Responsible to create a work friendly environment and one that fosters a positive, therapeutic environment through effective communication and organization.
  • Responsible to role model the mission and values of the organization, presenting a professional image that is projected in appearance, attitudes and behaviors, time management and communication skills. Provides spiritual, emotional, social, mental and physical support to patients.

The equivalent base pay range for this position is $19.76 - $29.64. Your interview and offer letter will specify whether the role is hourly or salaried. Please note that this range does not include potential shift differentials, incentives, or bonuses, which may be part of the total compensation package. Final base pay will be determined based on location, experience, education, certifications, and FTE status.
