Job Overview

Pulse is currently seeking experienced and motivated Pharmacy Production Unit (PPU) professionals to support the aseptic services team in North Wales. We are recruiting for up to two positions, including a Pharmacist (Band 7/8a) and a Pharmacy Technician (Band 6/7), depending on experience and qualifications.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist Pharmacy Production Unit, supporting the safe manufacture, quality assurance, and release of aseptically prepared medicines. The successful candidates will play a vital role in maintaining high-quality pharmaceutical production services while ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of Pharmacy Production Unit (PPU) services within a specialist aseptic environment.
• Contribute to the safe preparation, production, and release of aseptically prepared medicines.
• Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), quality assurance, and governance requirements.
• Participate in product approval and quality control activities.
• Support validation, audit, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, quality assurance staff, and wider healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation and production records in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Promote patient safety through adherence to established aseptic procedures and protocols.

Qualifications and Experience

For Pharmacists (Band 7/8a):

• Be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Have significant experience working within aseptic services.
• Hold an externally accredited PAAP or PIPC qualification.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of GMP, quality assurance, and aseptic production processes.
• Have experience supporting pharmaceutical production and governance activities.

For Pharmacy Technicians (Band 6/7):

• Be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Have significant aseptic services experience within a hospital environment.
• Have successfully completed the Product Approval Accreditation Programme (PAAP).
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of aseptic preparation, quality assurance, and production processes.
• Be able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
