Field Specialist – Well Testing Project

The Field Specialist role supports Well Testing Projects by leading safe and efficient field execution, coordinating team members during wellsite activities, ensuring equipment and job readiness, and driving service excellence throughout the job cycle. This role works closely with customers, supervisors, engineers, logistics, maintenance, HSE, and field crews to deliver high-quality well testing services, resolve operational challenges, and maintain reliable performance at the wellsite.
As the Field Specialist – Well Testing Project, you will have the following responsibilities:
• Lead the safe and efficient execution of well testing activities at the wellsite, including pre-job preparation, rig-up, pressure testing, flow operations, sampling, data acquisition, flowback, clean-up, rig-down, and demobilization.
• Coordinate and guide field team members during daily operations to ensure clear task allocation, effective communication, disciplined shift handover, and alignment with the approved well testing program.
• Drive service excellence by ensuring jobs are delivered safely, on time, and in accordance with customer requirements, Baker Hughes standards, operating procedures, and service quality expectations.
• Prepare, inspect, operate, and support readiness of well testing equipment, including test separators, choke manifolds, flowlines, burners, tanks, pressure control equipment, sand management equipment, emergency shutdown systems, and data acquisition systems.
• Monitor wellsite parameters, including pressure, temperature, flow rate, choke size, fluid properties, sand production, separator performance, gas rate, liquid rate, and operational trends; escalate issues and support corrective actions when required.
• Support team capability by mentoring junior crew members, reinforcing safe work practices, sharing technical knowledge, and promoting a positive, disciplined, and customer-focused field environment.
• Maintain accurate field documentation, including daily reports, well testing reports, job tickets, equipment checklists, pressure test records, sampling records, HSE documentation, lessons learned, and close-out reports.
• Communicate job progress, operational concerns, equipment status, safety observations, and service quality updates to supervisors, customers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to support reliable project delivery.
To be successful in this role, you will:
• Have a high school diploma, technical diploma, or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, with relevant practical field experience in oil and gas well testing operations.
• Have a minimum of 8 years’ experience in oil and gas well testing, surface testing, production testing, flowback, clean-up, or related wellsite service operations.
• Demonstrate the ability to lead field execution, coordinate team members, support job readiness, and maintain strong service quality during well testing operations.
• Show good knowledge of well testing equipment, pressure control, test separators, choke manifolds, burners, tanks, flowlines, sand management, sampling, data acquisition, and surface testing package operations.
• Be able to monitor wellsite data, identify operational deviations, troubleshoot equipment or process issues, and support timely corrective actions in fast-paced field environments.
• Have proven ability to mentor junior crew members, promote teamwork, support safe work execution, and contribute to a service excellence culture at the wellsite.
• Be committed to HSE, compliance, service quality, environmental responsibility, pressure control discipline, and safe execution of all well testing project activities.
• Have good communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to prepare clear field reports, provide operational updates, and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
